Chapter 31

When the two of them were brought back to the inn by Steward Xiao, they found an unexpected person waiting there.

“Senior brother?”

Que Qingyuan, who had been facing the window with his back to them, immediately turned around when he heard the voice, his eyes lighting up as he saw them. “Siming.”

“Senior brother, what are you doing here?”

Que Qingyuan grabbed a cane from the side and used it to support himself as he walked over.

“I heard you were returning, so I came with Uncle Xiao to meet you. But then… sigh… two days ago, Chen Se returned injured and said that Young Hero Jinbao had taken you into the Daluo Mountains. We didn’t know if you had been taken by Yu Mingjing, so we searched the mountains, hoping against hope. Thank goodness you’re both safe.”

Que Siming helped Que Qingyuan sit back down. “Senior brother, we’re fine. Sorry to have worried you. Does Master know?”

“Yesterday, when you still hadn’t returned home, Father became suspicious. The people couldn’t keep it a secret, so he already knows. He’s worried sick at home right now. You should rest a bit, and then we’ll head back quickly.”

“No need. We should set out immediately. I have urgent matters to discuss with Master.”

Que Qingyuan sighed, looking at Siming’s tired eyes with concern. He reached out to gently touch Siming’s brow, feeling a pang of heartache. “Siming, this blood curse…”

“Yes, Yu Mingjing has already activated it.”

“Then how did you manage to escape?”

Que Siming shifted uncomfortably, glancing back at Jinbao before saying, “It’s all thanks to him. Senior brother, let’s talk about it on the way.”

It was only then that Que Qingyuan seemed to notice Jinbao, and he apologized, “Young Hero Jinbao, it’s good to see you again.”

Jinbao quickly cupped his hands in greeting, “Young Master Que.”

On the return journey, Que Qingyuan insisted that Que Siming ride with him in the carriage. The two brothers had much to catch up on, talking endlessly.

Jinbao, meanwhile, was left to ride on horseback behind them.

For three days, he only saw Que Siming during meals and rest periods. At night, Que Siming shared a room with Que Qingyuan.

This left Jinbao feeling a bit awkward.

It’s odd how people are sometimes.

When he was together with Que Siming, Siming would always cling to him, finding excuses to touch him, which could get a bit annoying after a whole day. But now that he could barely see him at all, Jinbao found himself feeling a bit empty inside.

He wasn’t exactly unhappy about it-after all, it was only natural for fellow disciples to have a lot to talk about after being apart for so long. It was just that he felt a little lonely. He remembered how, back at the Jin family estate, he was always surrounded by people he knew. But now, traveling with Que Siming to a place where everyone else was a stranger, there was no one he could joke around with or speak candidly to. So if the only person he knew, Que Siming, didn’t have time for him, of course, he would feel lonely.

Moreover… he had always thought that Que Siming’s obsession with cleanliness didn’t apply to him alone, and he had even felt a bit smug about it. But now it seemed that Siming didn’t mind being close to his senior brother either…

The midday sun was intense, and traveling in this weather felt like being roasted over an open flame.

Seeing that they were not far from the Medicine Valley, the group decided to find a shaded spot to rest and escape the heat.

As soon as Jinbao dismounted, he dashed into the woods, having been holding in his urine for so long that he was about to burst.

He finally found a secluded spot where he could relieve himself without being seen, and he pulled out his “little bird” with a carefree air, letting it all out.

Just as he was about to finish up, he caught a glimpse of a shadow flickering past out of the corner of his eye.

“Who’s there?” Jinbao was about to turn around when a familiar presence enveloped him from behind, and he was suddenly hugged tightly.

The physician’s low laughter sounded in his ear. “Just taking a piss, and you run off this far.”

Jinbao sighed, “What, you expect me to do it in front of everyone? That’s too embarrassing.”

“That’s true. Only I’m allowed to see this,” Que Siming murmured, one arm wrapped around Jinbao’s waist while the other hand reached down to grasp little Jinbao.

Jinbao gasped sharply. “Don’t… don’t mess around.”

“It’s been days since I’ve touched you. Don’t you miss it?” As Siming spoke, his hand began to move.

“Stop… stop it. It’s broad daylight. What kind of pervert are you?”

“I’m being a pervert with my own wife, it’s not a crime,” Siming replied, sticking out his tongue to lick Jinbao’s ear, his teeth nibbling gently and teasingly.

Jinbao, completely flustered, let Siming do as he pleased. He was truly afraid that someone might suddenly show up and catch two men being so intimate-it would surely blind the poor onlooker.

His body couldn’t withstand this kind of teasing, especially not from someone like Que Siming, who could turn even a simple kiss into something intensely erotic. Siming’s tongue and teeth played with his ear while his hand worked below, making Jinbao’s legs go weak. He could barely stand. Through his pants, he could feel the physician’s hard and hot arousal pressing against him, grinding into his bones and maliciously pushing forward. Though it wasn’t as satisfying as the real thing, there was still something deeply thrilling about it.

Even just fooling around like this with their clothes on, the two of them, full of youthful energy and passion at eighteen or nineteen, could spend a good half of the day indulging in their desires. Having been deprived of each other’s touch for days, they were both close to their breaking point.

The physician barely restrained the urge to throw Jinbao to the ground and have his way with him. After getting little Jinbao to climax, he finally let him go.

Siming pinched Jinbao’s butt and muttered with frustration, “Just wait until we get back-I’m going to fuck you senseless.”

Jinbao hurried to pull up his pants. Truth be told, he wanted it too, but the timing and place were all wrong. A group of people was right outside the woods, and if someone caught them, how could he ever face them again?

Siming, with a mischievous grin, wiped the semen off his hand onto Jinbao’s clothes, causing the younger man’s face to turn bright red as he rolled his eyes in exasperation.

“Little Hu, we’ll reach the Medicine Valley tomorrow.”

“Yeah, I know.”

“There are some odd people in the valley. Don’t eat anything they give you, alright?”

“Huh?”

“You glutton, I’m afraid you’ll just start eating if you see something that looks tasty.”

“They wouldn’t poison me, would they?”

“Not poison, but some of them aren’t all there in the head and like to test medicines on people.”

Jinbao shivered at the thought, suddenly realizing that Siming seemed like the type who would do something like that.

“And one more thing-don’t tell anyone about our relationship when we get back.”

Jinbao’s eyes widened. “Am I crazy? Who would go around announcing that?”

Siming frowned, displeased. “What, are you ashamed of us? Do you think our relationship is something to be hidden, or is it against the law?”

“I… I didn’t say I was ashamed. Hey, you were the one who said not to tell anyone.”

“That’s because my master’s health is fragile, and I don’t want to upset him.”

“Hmm… but…” Jinbao wanted to ask if they were supposed to hide it forever. He knew that two men being together wasn’t exactly ideal, but he wasn’t hurting anyone, so he wasn’t afraid of people finding out. But if Siming said they had to keep it a secret, how long were they supposed to do that? If they were going to live in the Medicine Valley, what identity was he supposed to have? A friend? Jinbao suddenly felt a bit lost and uneasy, but he couldn’t quite put his finger on what was bothering him.

“Let me figure out how to tell my master. I’ve inherited my master’s surname. He treats me like a son. He and my father were sworn brothers, and he always hoped I would carry on the Yue family line. He said my father was a great hero, and this bloodline must continue. But I’m not interested in women. I can’t even get hard when I see a woman. How am I supposed to continue the line?”

Jinbao was taken aback and felt a bit guilty. “I’m sorry, it’s all because of me…”

The physician was momentarily stunned. He had forgotten how he had previously intimidated this naive person until Jinbao reminded him. He then grinned wickedly and said, “Just so you know, if you ever do something to wrong me, or treat me badly, or disobey me, just remember who destroyed the Yue family bloodline.”

“Alright, I get it,” Jinbao said, a bit exasperated. “But don’t use General Yue to scare me.”

Siming patted his face. “Behave, and my father won’t come looking for you.”

The two of them lingered a bit longer before emerging from the forest.

Qingyuan was resting on the grass with his eyes closed. When he saw the two of them coming out of the forest, one after the other, he opened his eyes. He noticed Jinbao’s flushed face and uneasy expression, while Siming looked refreshed, with a smile still on his lips.

Qingyuan had a flicker of suspicion. He felt something was off between them but couldn’t quite put his finger on it.

Siming stood with his back to him, his head tilted slightly, revealing his sharp chin and graceful profile, which glowed with a faint golden light under the sun. He looked almost divine, tall and straight with his curly hair cascading over his broad shoulders. His waist was slim and toned, leading down to his long, muscular legs.

Qingyuan’s eyes showed a fleeting admiration, which quickly faded as he self-deprecatingly smiled and closed his eyes again.
